FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions
We know booking a massage can come with questions, especially when you’re looking for the right treatment or visiting our studio for the first time. Our Frequently Asked Questions are here to help you feel informed, comfortable, and confident before your appointment. Below you’ll find answers to common questions about our services, booking process, and what to expect, so you can focus on relaxing and enjoying your experience.
Before Your Appointment
What should I wear to my massage?
Wear whatever makes you comfortable. During your session, you will undress to your level of comfort and be properly draped at all times. Your therapist will only uncover the areas being worked on.
Do I need to arrive early?
We recommend arriving 5–10 minutes early to allow time to settle in, complete any intake forms, and begin your session feeling relaxed.
What if I’m running late?
If you arrive late, your session may be shortened to respect the next client’s appointment, while the full service fee still applies. Please call or text us if you’re running behind.
Should I eat before my massage?
It’s best to avoid a heavy meal right before your appointment. A light snack is perfectly fine, but arriving overly full may cause discomfort during your session.
Should I shower before my appointment?
A shower isn’t required, but feeling clean and comfortable can help you relax more fully. Simply arrive as you are.
What information should I share with my therapist?
Please let your therapist know about any injuries, medical conditions, areas of pain or tension, pregnancy, recent surgeries, or anything that may affect your treatment. This helps us tailor the session safely and effectively.
Can I request specific focus areas?
Absolutely. You’re encouraged to let your therapist know which areas you’d like focused on or avoided so your session is customized to your needs.
Can I request lighter or deeper pressure?
Yes. Pressure preferences vary, and communication is always welcome. Let your therapist know at any time if you’d like the pressure adjusted.
Is massage safe during pregnancy?
Yes, prenatal massage is safe when performed by a trained therapist using proper positioning and techniques. Be sure to inform us if you are pregnant when booking. Pregnancies in the 1st trimester require a medial release form by your OBGYN to receive a massage.
Are there any conditions that prevent me from receiving massage?
Certain medical conditions may require modifications or medical clearance. If you have concerns such as acute illness, recent surgery, blood clots, or other health conditions, please contact us prior to booking so we can ensure your safety.
During Your Appointment
Will I be fully undressed?
You will undress only to your personal level of comfort. Many clients choose to undress completely, while others keep undergarments on. Your therapist will adjust the session accordingly.
How will my body be covered during the session?
You will be properly draped with sheets or blankets at all times. Only the area being worked on will be uncovered, ensuring your comfort, privacy, and dignity throughout the session.
Can I talk during the massage?
Yes—this is your time. Some clients enjoy quiet relaxation, while others prefer light conversation. You’re welcome to communicate as much or as little as you like.
What if I feel uncomfortable at any point?
Your comfort is our priority. If anything feels uncomfortable—whether it’s pressure, temperature, positioning, or technique—please let your therapist know immediately so adjustments can be made.
Can I ask to adjust pressure or technique?
Absolutely. Pressure and techniques can be adjusted at any time. Your feedback helps us tailor the session to your needs.
Will the therapist check in during the session?
Yes. Your therapist may check in to ensure pressure and comfort are appropriate, but will also allow space for uninterrupted relaxation.
Can I listen to my own music?
You’re welcome to bring your own music or use headphones if that helps you relax. Otherwise, calming music will be provided. However, frequent usage of your personal device/phone during the session will not be allowed.
What if I fall asleep?
Falling asleep is very common and perfectly okay. It’s a sign your body is deeply relaxed—there’s no need to worry at all.
After Your Appointment
What should I expect to feel afterward?
Most clients feel relaxed, lighter, and more at ease after a massage. You may also notice improved mobility or a sense of calm. Everyone responds differently, so experiences can vary.
Is soreness normal?
Mild soreness can occur, especially after deeper or therapeutic work. This is typically temporary and should ease within 24–48 hours as your body adjusts.
How much water should I drink after?
Drinking plenty of water after your massage helps support hydration and overall recovery. Listen to your body and sip water throughout the rest of the day.
How often should I get a massage?
Frequency depends on your goals and needs. Some clients benefit from weekly or biweekly sessions for ongoing tension or pain relief, while others prefer monthly maintenance or occasional relaxation sessions.
When should I schedule my next session?
Your therapist may recommend a timeline based on your body and treatment goals. Scheduling your next appointment before you leave can help maintain progress and consistency.
Are there any activities I should avoid after massage?
It’s best to avoid strenuous exercise or heavy activity immediately after your session. Gentle movement, stretching, and rest can help prolong the benefits.
What if I feel worse after my massage?
Temporary discomfort can happen as the body releases tension, but pain should not be severe or long-lasting. If symptoms persist or feel concerning, please reach out to your therapist so we can address your concerns and adjust future sessions.
